Best known for its two drastically different climates, the area receives heavy coastal influence that stays consistently cool along the Pacific coastline, with heavy sun and dry heat as you move inland. Though Chardonnay has remained the dominant grape of this region, it has also produced some outstanding reds like Cabernet Sauvignon and Pinot Noir.
